Chapter 86

3Be gracious to me, Lord, For I call upon You all day long. 4Make the soul of Your servant joyful, For to You, Lord, I lift up my soul. 5For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in mercy to all who call upon You. 6Listen, Lord, to my prayer; And give Your attention to the sound of my pleading! 7On the day of my trouble I will call upon You, For You will answer me. 8There is no one like You among the gods, Lord, Nor are there any works like Yours. 9All nations whom You have made will come and worship before You, Lord, And they will glorify Your name. 10For You are great, and you do wondrous deeds; You alone are God. 11Teach me Your way, Lord; I will walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your name. 12I will give thanks to You, Lord my God, with all my heart, And I will glorify Your name forever. 13For Your graciousness toward me is great, And You have saved my soul from the depths of Sheol.

3Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily.
4Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
5For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.
6Give ear, O Lord, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications.
7In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me.
8Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works.
9All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name.
10For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone.
11Teach me thy way, O Lord; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.
12I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore.
13For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.

4Bring joy to your servant’s life, because I appeal to you, Lord. 5For you, Lord, are kind and ready to forgive, abounding in faithful love to all who call on you. 6 Lord, hear my prayer; listen to my plea for mercy.
7I call on you in the day of my distress, for you will answer me. 8Lord, there is no one like you among the gods, and there are no works like yours. 9All the nations you have made will come and bow down before you, Lord, and will honor your name.
10For you are great and perform wonders; you alone are God. 11Teach me your way, Lord, and I will live by your truth. Give me an undivided mind to fear your name. 12I will praise you with all my heart, Lord my God, and will honor your name forever.
13For your faithful love for me is great, and you rescue my life from the depths of Sheol.

3Be merciful to me, O Lord, for I am calling on you constantly. 4Give me happiness, O Lord, for I give myself to you. 5O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help. 6Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord; hear my urgent cry. 7I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble, and you will answer me.
8No pagan god is like you, O Lord. None can do what you do! 9All the nations you made will come and bow before you, Lord; they will praise your holy name. 10For you are great and perform wonderful deeds. You alone are God.
11Teach me your ways, O Lord, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor you. 12With all my heart I will praise you, O Lord my God. I will give glory to your name forever, 13for your love for me is very great. You have rescued me from the depths of death.
