Psalm chapter 101
English Standard Version
1A Psalm of David. I will sing of steadfast love and justice; to you, O LORD, I will make music. 2I will ponder the way that is blameless. Oh when will you come to me? I will walk with integrity of heart within my house; 3I will not set before my eyes anything that is worthless. I hate the work of those who fall away; it shall not cling to me. 4A perverse heart shall be far from me; I will know nothing of evil. 5Whoever slanders his neighbor secretly I will destroy. Whoever has a haughty look and an arrogant heart I will not endure. 6I will look with favor on the faithful in the land, that they may dwell with me; he who walks in the way that is blameless shall minister to me. 7No one who practices deceit shall dwell in my house; no one who utters lies shall continue before my eyes. 8Morning by morning I will destroy all the wicked in the land, cutting off all the evildoers from the city of the LORD.
New International Version
New American Standard Bible
1I will sing of mercy and justice; To You, LORD, I will sing praises. 2I will carefully attend to the blameless way. When will You come to me? I will walk within my house in the integrity of my heart. 3I will set no worthless thing before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not cling to me. 4A perverse heart shall leave me; I will know no evil. 5Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, him I will destroy; I will not endure one who has a haughty look and an arrogant heart. 6My eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me; One who walks in a blameless way is one who will serve me. 7One who practices deceit shall not dwell within my house; One who speaks lies shall not maintain his position before me. 8Every morning I will destroy all the wicked of the land, So as to eliminate from the city of the LORD all those who do injustice.
Christian Standard Bible
1I will sing of faithful love and justice; I will sing praise to you, Lord. 2I will pay attention to the way of integrity. When will you come to me? I will live with a heart of integrity in my house. 3I will not let anything worthless guide me. I hate the practice of transgression; it will not cling to me.
4A devious heart will be far from me; I will not be involved with evil. 5I will destroy anyone who secretly slanders his neighbor; I cannot tolerate anyone with haughty eyes or an arrogant heart. 6My eyes favor the faithful of the land so that they may sit down with me. The one who follows the way of integrity may serve me. 7No one who acts deceitfully will live in my palace; the one who tells lies will not be retained here to guide me. 8Every morning I will destroy all the wicked of the land, wiping out all evildoers from the Lord's city.
New Living Translation
1A psalm of David. I will sing of your love and justice, LORD. I will praise you with songs. 2I will be careful to live a blameless life--when will you come to help me? I will lead a life of integrity in my own home. 3I will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar. I hate all who deal crookedly; I will have nothing to do with them. 4I will reject perverse ideas and stay away from every evil. 5I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. I will not endure conceit and pride.
6I will search for faithful people to be my companions. Only those who are above reproach will be allowed to serve me. 7I will not allow deceivers to serve in my house, and liars will not stay in my presence. 8My daily task will be to ferret out the wicked and free the city of the LORD from their grip.
King James Version
1{A Psalm of David.} I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O LORD, will I sing. 2I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. 3I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me. 4A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person. 5Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer. 6Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me. 7He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight. 8I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the LORD.
