Psalms 69:1-6
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 69
1 Save me, God, For the waters have threatened my life. 2I have sunk in deep mud, and there is no foothold; I have come into deep waters, and a flood overflows me. 3I am weary with my crying; my throat is parched; My eyes fail while I wait for my God. 4Those who hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head; Those who would destroy me are powerful, those who oppose me with lies; What I did not steal, I then have to restore. 5God, You know my foolishness, And my guilt is not hidden from You. 6May those who wait for You not be ashamed because of me, Lord God of armies; May those who seek You not be dishonored because of me, God of Israel,King James Version
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 69
1For the choir director: according to "The Lilies." Of David. Save me, God, for the water has risen to my neck. 2I have sunk in deep mud, and there is no footing; I have come into deep water, and a flood sweeps over me. 3I am weary from my crying; my throat is parched. My eyes fail, looking for my God.
4Those who hate me without cause are more numerous than the hairs of my head; my deceitful enemies, who would destroy me, are powerful. Though I did not steal, I must repay.
5God, you know my foolishness, and my guilty acts are not hidden from you.
6Do not let those who put their hope in you be disgraced because of me, Lord God of Armies; do not let those who seek you be humiliated because of me, God of Israel.
New Living Translation
Chapter 69
1Save me, O God, for the floodwaters are up to my neck. 2Deeper and deeper I sink into the mire; I can’t find a foothold. I am in deep water, and the floods overwhelm me. 3I am exhausted from crying for help; my throat is parched. My eyes are swollen with weeping, waiting for my God to help me. 4Those who hate me without cause outnumber the hairs on my head. Many enemies try to destroy me with lies, demanding that I give back what I didn’t steal.English Standard Version
Chapter 69
1 Save me, O God! For the waters have come up to my neck. 2I sink in deep mire, where there is no foothold; I have come into deep waters, and the flood sweeps over me. 3 I am weary with my crying out; my throat is parched. My eyes grow dim with waiting for my God. 4 More in number than the hairs of my head are those who hate me without cause; mighty are those who would destroy me, those who attack me with lies. What I did not steal must I now restore? 5O God, you know my folly; the wrongs I have done are not hidden from you. 6Let not those who hope in you be put to shame through me, O Lord God of hosts; let not those who seek you be brought to dishonor through me, O God of Israel.New International Version
