Chapter 37

35I have seen a wicked, violent person Spreading himself like a luxuriant tree in its native soil. 36Then he passed away, and behold, he was no more; I searched for him, but he could not be found. 37Observe the blameless person, and look at the upright; For the person of peace will have a future. 38But wrongdoers will altogether be destroyed; The future of the wicked will be eliminated. 39But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; He is their strength in time of trouble. 40The Lord helps them and rescues them; He rescues them from the wicked and saves them, Because they take refuge in Him.

35I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.
36Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.
37Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.
38But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.
39But the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord: he is their strength in the time of trouble.
40And the Lord shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.

36Then I passed by and noticed he was gone; I searched for him, but he could not be found. 37Watch the blameless and observe the upright, for the person of peace will have a future.
38But transgressors will all be eliminated; the future of the wicked will be destroyed. 39The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord, their refuge in a time of distress. 40The Lord helps and delivers them; he will deliver them from the wicked and will save them because they take refuge in him.

Chapter 37

35I have seen wicked and ruthless people flourishing like a tree in its native soil. 36But when I looked again, they were gone! Though I searched for them, I could not find them!
37Look at those who are honest and good, for a wonderful future awaits those who love peace. 38But the rebellious will be destroyed; they have no future.
39The Lord rescues the godly; he is their fortress in times of trouble. 40The Lord helps them, rescuing them from the wicked. He saves them, and they find shelter in him.
