Psalms 35:11-14
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 35
11Malicious witnesses rise up; They ask me things that I do not know. 12They repay me evil for good, To the bereavement of my soul. 13But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth; I humbled my soul with fasting, But my prayer kept returning to me. 14I went about as though it were my friend or brother; I bowed down in mourning, like one who mourns for a mother.King James Version
Chapter 35
11False witnesses did rise up; they laid to my charge things that I knew not. 12They rewarded me evil for good to the spoiling of my soul. 13But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom. 14I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother: I bowed down heavily, as one that mourneth for his mother.Christian Standard Bible

11Malicious witnesses come forward; they question me about things I do not know. 12They repay me evil for good, making me desolate. 13Yet when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth; I humbled myself with fasting, and my prayer was genuine. 14I went about mourning as if for my friend or brother; I was bowed down with grief, like one mourning for a mother.New Living Translation
Chapter 35
11Malicious witnesses testify against me. They accuse me of crimes I know nothing about. 12They repay me evil for good. I am sick with despair. 13Yet when they were ill, I grieved for them. I denied myself by fasting for them, but my prayers returned unanswered. 14I was sad, as though they were my friends or family, as if I were grieving for my own mother.English Standard Version

11Malicious witnesses rise up; they ask me of things that I do not know. 12They repay me evil for good; my soul is bereft. 13But I, when they were sick— I wore sackcloth; I afflicted myself with fasting; I prayed with head bowed on my chest. 14I went about as though I grieved for my friend or my brother; as one who laments his mother, I bowed down in mourning.New International Version
Chapter 35
11Ruthless witnesses come forward; they question me on things I know nothing about. 12They repay me evil for good and leave me like one bereaved. 13Yet when they were ill, I put on sackcloth and humbled myself with fasting. When my prayers returned to me unanswered, 14I went about mourning as though for my friend or brother. I bowed my head in grief as though weeping for my mother.New King James Version
