Chapter 132

2How he swore to the Lord And vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob, 3'I certainly will not enter my house, Nor lie on my bed; 4I will not give sleep to my eyes Or slumber to my eyelids, 5Until I find a place for the Lord, A dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.' 6Behold, we heard about it in Ephrathah, We found it in the field of Jaar. 7Let’s go into His dwelling place; Let’s worship at His footstool. 8Arise, Lord, to Your resting place, You and the ark of Your strength.

Chapter 132

2How he sware unto the Lord, and vowed unto the mighty God of Jacob;
3Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed;
4I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids,
5Until I find out a place for the Lord, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.
6Lo, we heard of it at Ephratah: we found it in the fields of the wood.
7We will go into his tabernacles: we will worship at his footstool.
8Arise, O Lord, into thy rest; thou, and the ark of thy strength.

2and how he swore an oath to the Lord, making a vow to the Mighty One of Jacob: 3"I will not enter my house or get into my bed, 4I will not allow my eyes to sleep or my eyelids to slumber
5until I find a place for the Lord, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob." 6We heard of the ark in Ephrathah; we found it in the fields of Jaar. 7Let us go to his dwelling place; let us worship at his footstool. 8Rise up, Lord, come to your resting place, you and your powerful ark.

Chapter 132

2He made a solemn promise to the Lord. He vowed to the Mighty One of Israel, 3'I will not go home; I will not let myself rest. 4I will not let my eyes sleep nor close my eyelids in slumber 5until I find a place to build a house for the Lord, a sanctuary for the Mighty One of Israel.'
6We heard that the Ark was in Ephrathah; then we found it in the distant countryside of Jaar. 7Let us go to the sanctuary of the Lord; let us worship at the footstool of his throne. 8Arise, O Lord, and enter your resting place, along with the Ark, the symbol of your power.
