Chapter 132

2How he swore to the Lord And vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob, 3'I certainly will not enter my house, Nor lie on my bed; 4I will not give sleep to my eyes Or slumber to my eyelids, 5Until I find a place for the Lord, A dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.' 6Behold, we heard about it in Ephrathah, We found it in the field of Jaar.

2How he sware unto the Lord, and vowed unto the mighty God of Jacob;
3Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed;
4I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids,
5Until I find out a place for the Lord, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.
6Lo, we heard of it at Ephratah: we found it in the fields of the wood.

Chapter 132

2He made a solemn promise to the Lord. He vowed to the Mighty One of Israel, 3'I will not go home; I will not let myself rest. 4I will not let my eyes sleep nor close my eyelids in slumber 5until I find a place to build a house for the Lord, a sanctuary for the Mighty One of Israel.'
6We heard that the Ark was in Ephrathah; then we found it in the distant countryside of Jaar.
