Psalms 10:13-14
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 10
13
Why has the wicked treated God disrespectfully?
He has said to himself, 'You will not require
an account.
'
14
You have seen
it,
for You have looked at harm and provocation to take it into Your hand.
The unfortunate commits
himself
to You;
You have been the helper of the orphan.
King James Version
Chapter 10
13
Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require
it
.
14
Thou hast seen
it
; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite
it
with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 10
13
Why has the wicked person despised God? He says to himself, "You will not demand an account."
14
But you yourself have seen trouble and grief, observing it in order to take the matter into your hands. The helpless one entrusts himself to you; you are a helper of the fatherless.
New Living Translation
Chapter 10
13
Why do the wicked get away with despising God?
They think, 'God will never call us to account.'
14
But you see the trouble and grief they cause.
You take note of it and punish them.
The helpless put their trust in you.
You defend the orphans.
English Standard Version
Chapter 10
13
Why does the wicked renounce God and say in his heart, “You will not call to account”?
14
But you do see, for you note mischief and vexation, that you may take it into your hands; to you the helpless commits himself; you have been the helper of the fatherless.
New International Version
Chapter 10
13
Why does the wicked man revile God? Why does he say to himself, 'He won't call me to account'?
14
But you, God, see the trouble of the afflicted; you consider their grief and take it in hand. The victims commit themselves to you; you are the helper of the fatherless.
New King James Version
Chapter 10
13
Why do the wicked renounce God?
He has said in his heart,
“You will not require
an account.
”
14
But You have seen, for You observe trouble and grief,
To repay
it
by Your hand.
The helpless commits himself to You;
You are the helper of the fatherless.
