Psalms 107:9-13
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 107
9For He has satisfied the thirsty soul, And He has filled the hungry soul with what is good. 10There were those who lived in darkness and in the shadow of death, Prisoners in misery and chains, 11Because they had rebelled against the words of God And rejected the plan of the Most High. 12Therefore He humbled their heart with labor; They stumbled and there was no one to help. 13Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He saved them from their distresses.King James Version
10Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron;
11Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:
12Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help.
13Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.

Chapter 107
9For he has satisfied the thirsty and filled the hungry with good things. 10Others sat in darkness and gloom -- prisoners in cruel chains -- 11because they rebelled against God's commands and despised the counsel of the Most High. 12He broke their spirits with hard labor; they stumbled, and there was no one to help. 13Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; he saved them from their distress.New Living Translation
10Some sat in darkness and deepest gloom, imprisoned in iron chains of misery.
11They rebelled against the words of God, scorning the counsel of the Most High.
12That is why he broke them with hard labor; they fell, and no one was there to help them.
13'Lord, help!' they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.

9for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things. 10Some sat in darkness, in utter darkness, prisoners suffering in iron chains, 11because they rebelled against God's commands and despised the plans of the Most High. 12So he subjected them to bitter labor; they stumbled, and there was no one to help. 13Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.New King James Version
