Psalms 107:39-43
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 107
39When they become few and lowly Because of oppression, misery, and sorrow, 40He pours contempt upon noblemen And makes them wander in a pathless wasteland. 41But He sets the needy securely on high, away from affliction, And makes his families like a flock. 42The upright see it and are glad; But all injustice shuts its mouth. 43Who is wise? He is to pay attention to these things, And consider the mercy of the Lord.King James Version
Chapter 107
39Again, they are minished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow. 40He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way. 41Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock. 42The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth. 43Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD.Christian Standard Bible
New Living Translation
Chapter 107
39When they decrease in number and become impoverished through oppression, trouble, and sorrow, 40the Lord pours contempt on their princes, causing them to wander in trackless wastelands. 41But he rescues the poor from trouble and increases their families like flocks of sheep. 42The godly will see these things and be glad, while the wicked are struck silent. 43Those who are wise will take all this to heart; they will see in our history the faithful love of the Lord.English Standard Version
