Chapter 106
7Our fathers in Egypt did not understand Your wonders; They did not remember Your abundant kindnesses, But rebelled by the sea, at the Red Sea. 8Nevertheless He saved them for the sake of His name, So that He might make His power known. 9So He rebuked the Red Sea and it dried up, And He led them through the mighty waters, as through the wilderness. 10So He saved them from the hand of one who hated them, And redeemed them from the hand of the enemy. 11The waters covered their adversaries; Not one of them was left. 12Then they believed His words; They sang His praise. 13They quickly forgot His works; They did not wait for His plan, 14But became lustfully greedy in the wilderness, And put God to the test in the desert. 15So He gave them their request, But sent a wasting disease among them. 16When they became envious of Moses in the camp, And of Aaron, the holy one of the Lord, 17The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, And engulfed the company of Abiram. 18And a fire blazed up in their company; The flame consumed the wicked. 19They made a calf in Horeb, And worshiped a cast metal image. 20So they exchanged their glory For the image of an ox that eats grass. 21They forgot God their Savior, Who had done great things in Egypt, 22 Wonders in the land of Ham, And awesome things by the Red Sea. 23Therefore He said that He would destroy them, If Moses, His chosen one, had not stood in the gap before Him, To turn away His wrath from destroying them.King James Version
Chapter 106
7Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea. 8Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known. 9He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness. 10And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy. 11And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left. 12Then believed they his words; they sang his praise.
13They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:
14But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.
15And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.
16They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron the saint of the LORD.
17The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.
18And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.
19They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image.
20Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grass.
21They forgat God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt;
22Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and terrible things by the Red sea.
23Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.

7Our ancestors in Egypt did not grasp the significance of your wondrous works or remember your many acts of faithful love; instead, they rebelled by the sea--the Red Sea. 8Yet he saved them for his name's sake, to make his power known. 9He rebuked the Red Sea, and it dried up; he led them through the depths as through a desert. 10He saved them from the power of the adversary; he redeemed them from the power of the enemy. 11Water covered their foes; not one of them remained.
12Then they believed his promises and sang his praise.
13They soon forgot his works and would not wait for his counsel.
14They were seized with craving in the wilderness and tested God in the desert.
15He gave them what they asked for, but sent a wasting disease among them.
16In the camp they were envious of Moses and of Aaron, the Lord's holy one.
17The earth opened up and swallowed Dathan; it covered the assembly of Abiram.
18Fire blazed throughout their assembly; flames consumed the wicked.
19At Horeb they made a calf and worshiped the cast metal image.
20They exchanged their glory for the image of a grass-eating ox.
21They forgot God their Savior, who did great things in Egypt,
22wondrous works in the land of Ham, awe-inspiring acts at the Red Sea.

Chapter 106
7Our ancestors in Egypt were not impressed by the Lord’s miraculous deeds. They soon forgot his many acts of kindness to them. Instead, they rebelled against him at the Red Sea. 8Even so, he saved them — to defend the honor of his name and to demonstrate his mighty power. 9He commanded the Red Sea to dry up. He led Israel across the sea as if it were a desert. 10So he rescued them from their enemies and redeemed them from their foes. 11Then the water returned and covered their enemies; not one of them survived. 12Then his people believed his promises. Then they sang his praise.
13Yet how quickly they forgot what he had done! They wouldn’t wait for his counsel!
14In the wilderness their desires ran wild, testing God’s patience in that dry wasteland.
15So he gave them what they asked for, but he sent a plague along with it.
16The people in the camp were jealous of Moses and envious of Aaron, the Lord’s holy priest.
17Because of this, the earth opened up; it swallowed Dathan and buried Abiram and the other rebels.
18Fire fell upon their followers; a flame consumed the wicked.
19The people made a calf at Mount Sinai ; they bowed before an image made of gold.
20They traded their glorious God for a statue of a grass-eating bull.
21They forgot God, their savior, who had done such great things in Egypt —
22such wonderful things in the land of Ham, such awesome deeds at the Red Sea.
23So he declared he would destroy them. But Moses, his chosen one, stepped between the Lord and the people. He begged him to turn from his anger and not destroy them.
