Psalms 105:8-19
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 105
8He has remembered His covenant forever, The word which He commanded to a thousand generations, 9 The covenant which He made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac. 10Then He confirmed it to Jacob as a statute, To Israel as an everlasting covenant, 11Saying, 'To you I will give the land of Canaan As the portion of your inheritance,' 12When they were only a few people in number, Very few, and strangers in it. 13And they wandered from nation to nation, From one kingdom to another people, 14He allowed no one to oppress them, And He rebuked kings for their sakes, saying, 15'Do not touch My anointed ones, And do not harm My prophets.' 16And He called for a famine upon the land; He broke the whole staff of bread. 17He sent a man before them, Joseph, who was sold as a slave. 18They forced his feet into shackles, He was put in irons; 19Until the time that his word came to pass, The word of the Lord refined him.King James Version
Chapter 105
8He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations. 9Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac; 10And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant: 11Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance: 12When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it. 13When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people; 14He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes; 15Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm. 16Moreover he called for a famine upon the land: he brake the whole staff of bread. 17He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant: 18Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron: 19Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him.Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 105
8He remembers his covenant forever, the promise he ordained for a thousand generations -- 9the covenant he made with Abraham, swore to Isaac, 10and confirmed to Jacob as a decree and to Israel as a permanent covenant:
11"I will give the land of Canaan to you as your inherited portion."
12When they were few in number, very few indeed, and resident aliens in Canaan,
13wandering from nation to nation and from one kingdom to another,
14he allowed no one to oppress them; he rebuked kings on their behalf:
15"Do not touch my anointed ones, or harm my prophets."
16He called down famine against the land and destroyed the entire food supply.
17He had sent a man ahead of them -- Joseph, who was sold as a slave.
18They hurt his feet with shackles; his neck was put in an iron collar.
19Until the time his prediction came true, the word of the Lord tested him.
New Living Translation
Chapter 105
8He always stands by his covenant — the commitment he made to a thousand generations. 9This is the covenant he made with Abraham and the oath he swore to Isaac. 10He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, and to the people of Israel as a never-ending covenant: 11'I will give you the land of Canaan as your special possession.'
12He said this when they were few in number, a tiny group of strangers in Canaan.
13They wandered from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another.
14Yet he did not let anyone oppress them. He warned kings on their behalf:
15'Do not touch my chosen people, and do not hurt my prophets.'
16He called for a famine on the land of Canaan, cutting off its food supply.
17Then he sent someone to Egypt ahead of them — Joseph, who was sold as a slave.
18They bruised his feet with fetters and placed his neck in an iron collar.
19Until the time came to fulfill his dreams, the Lord tested Joseph’s character.

Chapter 105
8He remembers his covenant forever, the word that he commanded, for a thousand generations, 9the covenant that he made with Abraham, his sworn promise to Isaac, 10which he confirmed to Jacob as a statute, to Israel as an everlasting covenant, 11saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan as your portion for an inheritance.” 12When they were few in number, of little account, and sojourners in it, 13wandering from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people, 14he allowed no one to oppress them; he rebuked kings on their account, 15saying, “Touch not my anointed ones, do my prophets no harm!” 16When he summoned a famine on the land and broke all supply of bread, 17he had sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, who was sold as a slave. 18His feet were hurt with fetters; his neck was put in a collar of iron; 19until what he had said came to pass, the word of the LORD tested him.New International Version
