New American Standard Bible
Chapter 105
11Saying, 'To you I will give the land of Canaan As the portion of your inheritance,' 12When they were only a few people in number, Very few, and strangers in it. 13And they wandered from nation to nation, From one kingdom to another people, 14He allowed no one to oppress them, And He rebuked kings for their sakes, saying, 15'Do not touch My anointed ones, And do not harm My prophets.' 16And He called for a famine upon the land; He broke the whole staff of bread. 17He sent a man before them, Joseph, who was sold as a slave. 18They forced his feet into shackles, He was put in irons; 19Until the time that his word came to pass, The word of the Lord refined him. 20The king sent and released him, The ruler of peoples, and set him free. 21He made him lord of his house, And ruler over all his possessions, 22To imprison his high officials at will, That he might teach his elders wisdom. 23Israel also came into Egypt; So Jacob lived in the land of Ham. 24And He made His people very fruitful, And made them stronger than their enemies.King James Version
Chapter 105
11Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance: 12When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it. 13When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people; 14He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes; 15Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm. 16Moreover he called for a famine upon the land: he brake the whole staff of bread. 17He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant: 18Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron: 19Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him. 20The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free. 21He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance: 22To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom. 23Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham. 24And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 105
11"I will give the land of Canaan to you as your inherited portion." 12When they were few in number, very few indeed, and resident aliens in Canaan, 13wandering from nation to nation and from one kingdom to another, 14he allowed no one to oppress them; he rebuked kings on their behalf:
15"Do not touch my anointed ones, or harm my prophets."
16He called down famine against the land and destroyed the entire food supply.
17He had sent a man ahead of them -- Joseph, who was sold as a slave.
18They hurt his feet with shackles; his neck was put in an iron collar.
19Until the time his prediction came true, the word of the Lord tested him.
20The king sent for him and released him; the ruler of peoples set him free.
21He made him master of his household, ruler over all his possessions --
New Living Translation
12He said this when they were few in number, a tiny group of strangers in Canaan.
13They wandered from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another.
14Yet he did not let anyone oppress them. He warned kings on their behalf:
15'Do not touch my chosen people, and do not hurt my prophets.'
16He called for a famine on the land of Canaan, cutting off its food supply.
17Then he sent someone to Egypt ahead of them — Joseph, who was sold as a slave.
18They bruised his feet with fetters and placed his neck in an iron collar.
19Until the time came to fulfill his dreams, the Lord tested Joseph’s character.
20Then Pharaoh sent for him and set him free; the ruler of the nation opened his prison door.
21Joseph was put in charge of all the king’s household; he became ruler over all the king’s possessions.
22He could instruct the king’s aides as he pleased and teach the king’s advisers.

11saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan as your portion for an inheritance.” 12When they were few in number, of little account, and sojourners in it, 13wandering from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people, 14he allowed no one to oppress them; he rebuked kings on their account, 15saying, “Touch not my anointed ones, do my prophets no harm!” 16When he summoned a famine on the land and broke all supply of bread, 17he had sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, who was sold as a slave. 18His feet were hurt with fetters; his neck was put in a collar of iron; 19until what he had said came to pass, the word of the LORD tested him. 20The king sent and released him; the ruler of the peoples set him free; 21he made him lord of his house and ruler of all his possessions, 22to bind his princes at his pleasure and to teach his elders wisdom. 23Then Israel came to Egypt; Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham. 24And the LORD made his people very fruitful and made them stronger than their foes.New International Version
