Chapter 19

2And the soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and placed it on His head, and put a purple cloak on Him; 3and they repeatedly came up to Him and said, 'Hail, King of the Jews!' and slapped Him in the face again and again. 4And then Pilate came out again and *said to them, 'See, I am bringing Him out to you so that you will know that I find no grounds at all for charges in His case.' 5Jesus then came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And Pilate *said to them, 'Behold, the Man!' 6So when the chief priests and the officers saw Him, they shouted, saying, 'Crucify, crucify!' Pilate *said to them, 'Take Him yourselves and crucify Him; for I find no grounds for charges in His case!' 7The Jews answered him, 'We have a law, and by that law He ought to die, because He made Himself out to be the Son of God!'
8Therefore when Pilate heard this statement, he was even more afraid;

2And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe, 3And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands. 4Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him. 5Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man! 6When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him. 7The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.
8When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he was the more afraid;

4Pilate went outside again and said to them, "Look, I’m bringing him out to you to let you know I find no grounds for charging him." 5Then Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. Pilate said to them, "Here is the man!"
6When the chief priests and the temple servants saw him, they shouted, "Crucify! Crucify!" Pilate responded, "Take him and crucify him yourselves, since I find no grounds for charging him."
7"We have a law," the Jews replied to him, "and according to that law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God."
8When Pilate heard this statement, he was more afraid than ever.

2The soldiers wove a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and they put a purple robe on him. 3Hail! King of the Jews!' they mocked, as they slapped him across the face.
4Pilate went outside again and said to the people, 'I am going to bring him out to you now, but understand clearly that I find him not guilty.' 5Then Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And Pilate said, 'Look, here is the man!'
6When they saw him, the leading priests and Temple guards began shouting, 'Crucify him! Crucify him!' 'Take him yourselves and crucify him,' Pilate said. 'I find him not guilty.'
7The Jewish leaders replied, 'By our law he ought to die because he called himself the Son of God.'
8When Pilate heard this, he was more frightened than ever.

6As soon as the chief priests and their officials saw him, they shouted, "Crucify! Crucify!" But Pilate answered, "You take him and crucify him. As for me, I find no basis for a charge against him."
7The Jewish leaders insisted, "We have a law, and according to that law he must die, because he claimed to be the Son of God."
8When Pilate heard this, he was even more afraid,
