Now it came about, when the king lived in his house, and the

had given him rest on every side from all his enemies,
2
that the king said to Nathan the prophet, 'See now, I live in a house of cedar, but the ark of God remains within the tent.'

And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the
Lord
had given him rest round about from all his enemies;

That the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains.

When the king had settled into his palace and the
Lord
had given him rest on every side from all his enemies,
2
the king said to the prophet Nathan, "Look, I am living in a cedar house while the ark of God sits inside tent curtains."

When King David was settled in his palace and the
Lord
had given him rest from all the surrounding enemies,

the king summoned Nathan the prophet. 'Look,' David said, 'I am living in a beautiful cedar palace, but the Ark of God is out there in a tent!'
