2 Samuel 7:24-29
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 7
24
For You have established for Yourself Your people Israel as Your
own
people forever, and You,
Lord
, have become their God.
25
Now then,
Lord
God, the word that You have spoken about Your servant and his house, confirm
it
forever, and do just as You have spoken,
26
so that Your name may be great forever, by saying, ‘The
Lord
of armies
is
God over Israel’; and may the house of Your servant David be established before You.
27
For You,
Lord
of armies, God of Israel, have given a revelation to Your servant, saying, ‘I will build you a house’; therefore Your servant has found courage to pray this prayer to You.
28
Now then, Lord
God
, You are God, and Your words are truth; and You have promised this good thing to Your servant.
29
And now, may it please You to bless the house of Your servant, so that it may continue forever before You. For You, Lord
God
, have spoken; and with Your blessing may the house of Your servant be blessed forever.'
King James Version
Chapter 7
24
For thou hast confirmed to thyself thy people Israel to be a people unto thee for ever: and thou,
Lord
, art become their God.
25
And now, O
Lord
God, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, establish it for ever, and do as thou hast said.
26
And let thy name be magnified for ever, saying, The
Lord
of hosts is the God over Israel: and let the house of thy servant David be established before thee.
27
For thou, O
Lord
of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee.
28
And now, O Lord
God
, thou art that God, and thy words be true, and thou hast promised this goodness unto thy servant:
29
Therefore now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee: for thou, O Lord
God
, hast spoken it: and with thy blessing let the house of thy servant be blessed for ever.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 7
24
You established your people Israel to be your own people forever, and you,
Lord
, have become their God.
25
Now,
Lord
God, fulfill the promise forever that you have made to your servant and his house. Do as you have promised,
26
so that your name will be exalted forever, when it is said, "The
Lord
of Armies is God over Israel." The house of your servant David will be established before you
27
since you,
Lord
of Armies, God of Israel, have revealed this to your servant when you said, "I will build a house for you." Therefore, your servant has found the courage to pray this prayer to you.
28
Lord
God
, you are God; your words are true, and you have promised this good thing to your servant.
29
Now, please bless your servant’s house so that it will continue before you forever. For you, Lord
God
, have spoken, and with your blessing your servant’s house will be blessed forever.
New Living Translation
Chapter 7
24
You made Israel your very own people forever, and you, O
Lord
, became their God.
25
'And now, O
Lord
God, I am your servant; do as you have promised concerning me and my family. Confirm it as a promise that will last forever.
26
And may your name be honored forever so that everyone will say, ‘The
Lord
of Heaven’s Armies is God over Israel!’ And may the house of your servant David continue before you forever.
27
'O
Lord
of Heaven’s Armies, God of Israel, I have been bold enough to pray this prayer to you because you have revealed all this to your servant, saying, ‘I will build a house for you — a dynasty of kings!’
28
For you are God, O Sovereign
Lord
. Your words are truth, and you have promised these good things to your servant.
29
And now, may it please you to bless the house of your servant, so that it may continue forever before you. For you have spoken, and when you grant a blessing to your servant, O Sovereign
Lord
, it is an eternal blessing!'
English Standard Version

24
You have established your people Israel as your very own forever, and you,
Lord
, have become their God.
25
"And now,

so that your name will be great forever. Then people will say, ‘The
Lord
Almighty is God over Israel!’ And the house of your servant David will be established in your sight.
27
"
Lord
Almighty, God of Israel, you have revealed this to your servant, saying, ‘I will build a house for you.’ So your servant has found courage to pray this prayer to you.
28
Sovereign
Lord
, you are God! Your covenant is trustworthy, and you have promised these good things to your servant.
