2 Samuel 7:23-27
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 7
23
And what one nation on the earth is like Your people Israel, whom God went to redeem for Himself as a people, and to make a name for Himself, and to do a great thing for You and awesome things for Your land, because of Your people whom You have redeemed for Yourself from Egypt,
from other
nations and their gods?
24
For You have established for Yourself Your people Israel as Your
own
people forever, and You,
Lord
, have become their God.
25
Now then,
Lord
God, the word that You have spoken about Your servant and his house, confirm
it
forever, and do just as You have spoken,
26
so that Your name may be great forever, by saying, ‘The
Lord
of armies
is
God over Israel’; and may the house of Your servant David be established before You.
27
For You,
Lord
of armies, God of Israel, have given a revelation to Your servant, saying, ‘I will build you a house’; therefore Your servant has found courage to pray this prayer to You.
King James Version
Chapter 7
23
And what one nation in the earth is like thy people, even like Israel, whom God went to redeem for a people to himself, and to make him a name, and to do for you great things and terrible, for thy land, before thy people, which thou redeemedst to thee from Egypt, from the nations and their gods?
24
For thou hast confirmed to thyself thy people Israel to be a people unto thee for ever: and thou,
Lord
, art become their God.
25
And now, O
Lord
God, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, establish it for ever, and do as thou hast said.
26
And let thy name be magnified for ever, saying, The
Lord
of hosts is the God over Israel: and let the house of thy servant David be established before thee.
27
For thou, O
Lord
of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 7
23
And who is like your people Israel? God came to one nation on earth in order to redeem a people for himself, to make a name for himself, and to perform for them great and awesome acts, driving out nations and their gods before your people you redeemed for yourself from Egypt.
24
You established your people Israel to be your own people forever, and you,
Lord
, have become their God.
25
Now,
Lord
God, fulfill the promise forever that you have made to your servant and his house. Do as you have promised,
26
so that your name will be exalted forever, when it is said, "The
Lord
of Armies is God over Israel." The house of your servant David will be established before you
27
since you,
Lord
of Armies, God of Israel, have revealed this to your servant when you said, "I will build a house for you." Therefore, your servant has found the courage to pray this prayer to you.
New Living Translation
Chapter 7
23
What other nation on earth is like your people Israel? What other nation, O God, have you redeemed from slavery to be your own people? You made a great name for yourself when you redeemed your people from Egypt. You performed awesome miracles and drove out the nations and gods that stood in their way.
24
You made Israel your very own people forever, and you, O
Lord
, became their God.
25
'And now, O
Lord
God, I am your servant; do as you have promised concerning me and my family. Confirm it as a promise that will last forever.
26
And may your name be honored forever so that everyone will say, ‘The
Lord
of Heaven’s Armies is God over Israel!’ And may the house of your servant David continue before you forever.
27
'O
Lord
of Heaven’s Armies, God of Israel, I have been bold enough to pray this prayer to you because you have revealed all this to your servant, saying, ‘I will build a house for you — a dynasty of kings!’

Chapter 7
23
And who is like your people Israel, the one nation on earth whom God went to redeem to be his people, making himself a name and doing for them great and awesome things by driving out before your people, whom you redeemed for yourself from Egypt, a nation and its gods?
24
And you established for yourself your people Israel to be your people forever. And you, O
Lord
, became their God.
25
And now, O
Lord
God, confirm forever the word that you have spoken concerning your servant and concerning his house, and do as you have spoken.
26
And your name will be magnified forever, saying, ‘The
Lord
of hosts is God over Israel,’ and the house of your servant David will be established before you.
27
For you, O
Lord
of hosts, the God of Israel, have made this revelation to your servant, saying, ‘I will build you a house.’ Therefore your servant has found courage to pray this prayer to you.
New International Version
Chapter 7
23
And who is like your people Israel—the one nation on earth that God went out to redeem as a people for himself, and to make a name for himself, and to perform great and awesome wonders by driving out nations and their gods from before your people, whom you redeemed from Egypt?
24
You have established your people Israel as your very own forever, and you,
Lord
, have become their God.
25
"And now,
Lord
God, keep forever the promise you have made concerning your servant and his house. Do as you promised,
26
so that your name will be great forever. Then people will say, ‘The
Lord
Almighty is God over Israel!’ And the house of your servant David will be established in your sight.
27
"
Lord
Almighty, God of Israel, you have revealed this to your servant, saying, ‘I will build a house for you.’ So your servant has found courage to pray this prayer to you.

For You have made Your people Israel Your very own people forever; and You,
