Now all the people took note
of David’s vow,
and it pleased them, just as everything that the king did pleased all the people.
37
So all the people and all Israel understood on that day that it had not been
the desire
of the king to put Abner the son of Ner to death.

of it
, and it pleased them: as whatsoever the king did pleased all the people.

For all the people and all Israel understood that day that it was not of the king to slay Abner the son of Ner.

All the people took note of this, and it pleased them. In fact, everything the king did pleased them.

On that day all the troops and all Israel were convinced that the king had no part in the killing of Abner son of Ner.

So everyone in Judah and all Israel understood that David was not responsible for Abner’s murder.
