Luke 6:23-26
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 6
23Rejoice on that day and jump for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven. For their fathers used to treat the prophets the same way. 24But woe to you who are rich, for you are receiving your comfort in full. 25Woe to you who are well-fed now, for you will be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep. 26Woe to you when all the people speak well of you; for their fathers used to treat the false prophets the same way.King James Version
Chapter 6
23Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets. 24But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation. 25Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep. 26Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.Christian Standard Bible
24But woe to you who are rich, for you have received your comfort.
25Woe to you who are now full, for you will be hungry. Woe to you who are now laughing, for you will mourn and weep.
26Woe to you when all people speak well of you, for this is the way their ancestors used to treat the false prophets.
New Living Translation
24'What sorrow awaits you who are rich, for you have your only happiness now.
25What sorrow awaits you who are fat and prosperous now, for a time of awful hunger awaits you. What sorrow awaits you who laugh now, for your laughing will turn to mourning and sorrow.
26What sorrow awaits you who are praised by the crowds, for their ancestors also praised false prophets.
