John 7:27-30
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 7
27
However, we know where this man is from; but when the Christ comes, no one knows where He is from.'
28
Then Jesus cried out in the temple, teaching and saying, 'You both know Me and you know where I am from; and I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true, whom you do not know.
29
I do know Him, because I am from Him, and He sent Me.'
30
So they were seeking to arrest Him; and
yet
no one laid a hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come.
King James Version
Chapter 7
27
Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is.
28
Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.
29
But I know him: for I am from him, and he hath sent me.
30
Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 7
27
But we know where this man is from. When the Messiah comes, nobody will know where he is from."
28
As he was teaching in the temple, Jesus cried out, "You know me and you know where I am from. Yet I have not come on my own, but the one who sent me is true. You don’t know him;
29
I know him because I am from him, and he sent me."
30
Then they tried to seize him. Yet no one laid a hand on him because his hour had not yet come.
New Living Translation
Chapter 7
27
But how could he be? For we know where this man comes from. When the Messiah comes, he will simply appear; no one will know where he comes from.'
28
While Jesus was teaching in the Temple, he called out, 'Yes, you know me, and you know where I come from. But I’m not here on my own. The one who sent me is true, and you don’t know him.
29
But I know him because I come from him, and he sent me to you.'
30
Then the leaders tried to arrest him; but no one laid a hand on him, because his time had not yet come.
English Standard Version
Chapter 7
27
But we know where this man comes from, and when the Christ appears, no one will know where he comes from."
28
So Jesus proclaimed, as he taught in the temple, "You know me, and you know where I come from. But I have not come of my own accord. He who sent me is true, and him you do not know.
29
I know him, for I come from him, and he sent me."
30
So they were seeking to arrest him, but no one laid a hand on him, because his hour had not yet come.
New International Version
Chapter 7
27
But we know where this man is from; when the Messiah comes, no one will know where he is from."
28
Then Jesus, still teaching in the temple courts, cried out, "Yes, you know me, and you know where I am from. I am not here on my own authority, but he who sent me is true. You do not know him,
29
but I know him because I am from him and he sent me."
30
At this they tried to seize him, but no one laid a hand on him, because his hour had not yet come.
New King James Version
Chapter 7
27
However, we know where this Man is from; but when the Christ comes, no one knows where He is from.”
28
Then Jesus cried out, as He taught in the temple, saying, “You both know Me, and you know where I am from; and I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true, whom you do not know.
29
But I know Him, for I am from Him, and He sent Me.”
30
Therefore they sought to take Him; but no one laid a hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come.
