13
However, no one was speaking openly about Him, for fear of the Jews.
14
But when it was now the middle of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple
area,
and
began to
teach.
15
The Jews then were astonished, saying, 'How has this man become learned, not having been educated?'
King James Version

Howbeit no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews.
14
Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.

And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?
Christian Standard Bible

Still, nobody was talking publicly about him for fear of the Jews.
14
When the festival was already half over, Jesus went up into the temple and began to teach.

New Living Translation

But no one had the courage to speak favorably about him in public, for they were afraid of getting in trouble with the Jewish leaders.
14
Then, midway through the festival, Jesus went up to the Temple and began to teach.
15
The people were surprised when they heard him. 'How does he know so much when he hasn’t been trained?' they asked.
English Standard Version
