John 6:24-34
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 6
24So when the crowd saw that Jesus was not there, nor His disciples, they themselves got into the small boats and came to Capernaum, looking for Jesus. 25And when they found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him, 'Rabbi, when did You get here?'
26Jesus answered them and said, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate some of the loaves and were filled.
27Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that lasts for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal.'
28Therefore they said to Him, 'What are we to do, so that we may accomplish the works of God?'
29Jesus answered and said to them, 'This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.'
30So they said to Him, 'What then are You doing as a sign, so that we may see, and believe You? What work are You performing?
31Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written: ‘HE GAVE THEM BREAD OUT OF HEAVEN TO EAT.’?'
32Jesus then said to them, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread out of heaven, but it is My Father who gives you the true bread out of heaven.
33For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven and gives life to the world.'
34Then they said to Him, 'Lord, always give us this bread.'

Chapter 6
24When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus. 25And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither? 26Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. 27Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. 28Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? 29Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. 30They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work? 31Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat. 32Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. 33For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.Christian Standard Bible

27Don’t work for the food that perishes but for the food that lasts for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set his seal of approval on him."
30"What sign, then, are you going to do so we may see and believe you?" they asked. "What are you going to perform?
31Our ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, just as it is written: He gave them bread from heaven to eat."

Chapter 6
24So when the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they got into the boats and went across to Capernaum to look for him. 25They found him on the other side of the lake and asked, 'Rabbi, when did you get here?'
26Jesus replied, 'I tell you the truth, you want to be with me because I fed you, not because you understood the miraculous signs.
27But don’t be so concerned about perishable things like food. Spend your energy seeking the eternal life that the Son of Man can give you. For God the Father has given me the seal of his approval.'
30They answered, 'Show us a miraculous sign if you want us to believe in you. What can you do?
31After all, our ancestors ate manna while they journeyed through the wilderness! The Scriptures say, ‘Moses gave them bread from heaven to eat.’ '
English Standard Version
25When they found him on the other side of the sea, they said to him, "Rabbi, when did you come here?"
26Jesus answered them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, you are seeking me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate your fill of the loaves.
27Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal."
28Then they said to him, "What must we do, to be doing the works of God?"
29Jesus answered them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent."
30So they said to him, "Then what sign do you do, that we may see and believe you? What work do you perform?
31Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’"
32Jesus then said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven.
33For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world."
34They said to him, "Sir, give us this bread always."
New International Version
25When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him, "Rabbi, when did you get here?"
26Jesus answered, "Very truly I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw the signs I performed but because you ate the loaves and had your fill.
27Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval."
30So they asked him, "What sign then will you give that we may see it and believe you? What will you do?
31Our ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written: ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’ "
