And it will be on the day when the

gives you rest from your hardship, your turmoil, and from the harsh service in which you have been enslaved,
4
that you will take up this taunt against the king of Babylon, and say,
'How the oppressor has ceased,
And how
the onslaught has ceased!

And it shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,

That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!

When the Lord gives you rest from your pain, torment, and the hard labor you were forced to do,
4
you will sing this song of contempt about the king of Babylon and say: How the oppressor has quieted down, and how the raging has become quiet!

In that wonderful day when the
Lord
gives his people rest from sorrow and fear, from slavery and chains,

you will taunt the king of Babylon. You will say,
'The mighty man has been destroyed.
Yes, your insolence is ended.

When the LORD has given you rest from your pain and turmoil and the hard service with which you were made to serve,
