Isaiah 14:1-2
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 14
1
When the
Lord
has compassion on Jacob and again chooses Israel, and settles them on their own land, then strangers will join them and attach themselves to the house of Jacob.
2
The peoples will take them along and bring them to their place, and the house of Israel will make them their own possession in the land of the
Lord
as male and female servants; and they will take their captors captive and will rule over their oppressors.
King James Version
Chapter 14
1
For the
Lord
will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.
2
And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the
Lord
for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.
Christian Standard Bible

Lord
’s land. They will make captives of their captors and will rule over their oppressors.

But the
Lord
will have mercy on the descendants of Jacob. He will choose Israel as his special people once again. He will bring them back to settle once again in their own land. And people from many different nations will come and join them there and unite with the people of Israel.
2
The nations of the world will help the people of Israel to return, and those who come to live in the
Lord
’s land will serve them. Those who captured Israel will themselves be captured, and Israel will rule over its enemies.
