Chapter 14
46And they laid hands on Him and arrested Him. 47But one of those who stood by drew his sword, and struck the slave of the high priest and cut off his ear. 48And Jesus said to them, 'Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest Me, as you would against a man inciting a revolt? 49Every day I was with you within the temple grounds teaching, and you did not arrest Me; but this has taken place so that the Scriptures will be fulfilled.' 50And His disciples all left Him and fled.King James Version

46And they laid their hands on him, and took him. 47And one of them that stood by drew a sword, and smote a servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear. 48And Jesus answered and said unto them, Are ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and with staves to take me? 49I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled. 50And they all forsook him, and fled. 51And there followed him a certain young man, having a linen cloth cast about his naked body; and the young men laid hold on him: 52And he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked.Christian Standard Bible

48Jesus said to them, "Have you come out with swords and clubs, as if I were a criminal, to capture me?
49Every day I was among you, teaching in the temple, and you didn't arrest me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled."

46Then the others grabbed Jesus and arrested him. 47But one of the men with Jesus pulled out his sword and struck the high priest’s slave, slashing off his ear.
48Jesus asked them, 'Am I some dangerous revolutionary, that you come with swords and clubs to arrest me?
49Why didn’t you arrest me in the Temple? I was there among you teaching every day. But these things are happening to fulfill what the Scriptures say about me.'

48Am I leading a rebellion,' said Jesus, 'that you have come out with swords and clubs to capture me?
