Luke 4:27-32
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 4
27
And there were many with leprosy in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, but
only
Naaman the Syrian.'
28
And all
the people
in the synagogue were filled with rage as they heard these things;
29
and they got up and drove Him out of the city, and brought Him to the crest of the hill on which their city had been built, so that they could throw Him down from the cliff.
30
But He passed through their midst and went on His way.
31
And He came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee; and He was teaching them on the Sabbath;
32
and they were amazed at His teaching, because His message was
delivered
with authority.
King James Version
Chapter 4
27
And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.
28
And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath,
29
And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.
30
But he passing through the midst of them went his way,
31
And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days.
32
And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 4
27
And in the prophet Elisha’s time, there were many in Israel who had leprosy, and yet not one of them was cleansed except Naaman the Syrian."
28
When they heard this, everyone in the synagogue was enraged.
29
They got up, drove him out of town, and brought him to the edge of the hill that their town was built on, intending to hurl him over the cliff.
30
But he passed right through the crowd and went on his way.
31
Then he went down to Capernaum, a town in Galilee, and was teaching them on the Sabbath.
32
They were astonished at his teaching because his message had authority.
New Living Translation
Chapter 4
27
And many in Israel had leprosy in the time of the prophet Elisha, but the only one healed was Naaman, a Syrian.'
28
When they heard this, the people in the synagogue were furious.
29
Jumping up, they mobbed him and forced him to the edge of the hill on which the town was built. They intended to push him over the cliff,
30
but he passed right through the crowd and went on his way.
31
Then Jesus went to Capernaum, a town in Galilee, and taught there in the synagogue every Sabbath day.
32
There, too, the people were amazed at his teaching, for he spoke with authority.
