Luke 22:17-23
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 22
17
And when He had taken a cup
and
given thanks, He said, 'Take this and share it among yourselves;
18
for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine from now on until the kingdom of God comes.'
19
And when He had taken
some
bread
and
given thanks, He broke it and gave it to them, saying, 'This is My body, which is being given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.'
20
And in the same way
He took
the cup after they had eaten, saying, 'This cup, which is poured out for you, is the new covenant in My blood.
21
But behold, the hand of the one betraying Me is with Mine on the table.
22
For indeed, the Son of Man is going as it has been determined; but woe to that man by whom He is betrayed!'
23
And they began to debate among themselves which one of them it was who was going to do this.
King James Version
Chapter 22
17
And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:
18
For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
19
And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
20
Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
21
But, behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.
22
And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed!
23
And they began to enquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 22
17
Then he took a cup, and after giving thanks, he said, "Take this and share it among yourselves.
18
For I tell you, from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes."
19
And he took bread, gave thanks, broke it, gave it to them, and said, "This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me."
20
In the same way he also took the cup after supper and said, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
21
But look, the hand of the one betraying me is at the table with me.
22
For the Son of Man will go away as it has been determined, but woe to that man by whom he is betrayed!"
23
So they began to argue among themselves which of them it could be who was going to do it.
New Living Translation
Chapter 22
17
Then he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. Then he said, 'Take this and share it among yourselves.
18
For I will not drink wine again until the Kingdom of God has come.'
19
He took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, 'This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.'
20
After supper he took another cup of wine and said, 'This cup is the new covenant between God and his people — an agreement confirmed with my blood, which is poured out as a sacrifice for you.
21
But here at this table, sitting among us as a friend, is the man who will betray me.
22
For it has been determined that the Son of Man must die. But what sorrow awaits the one who betrays him.'
23
The disciples began to ask each other which of them would ever do such a thing.
