72To show mercy to our fathers, And to remember His holy covenant, 73 The oath which He swore to our father Abraham, 74To grant us that we, being rescued from the hand of our enemies, Would serve Him without fear, 75In holiness and righteousness before Him all our days. 76And you, child, also will be called the prophet of the Most High; For you will go on before the Lord to prepare His ways; 77To give His people the knowledge of salvation By the forgiveness of their sins, 78Because of the tender mercy of our God, With which the Sunrise from on high will visit us, 79To shine on those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, To guide our feet into the way of peace.'King James Version

72To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant; 73The oath which he sware to our father Abraham, 74That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear, 75In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life. 76And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways; 77To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins, 78Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, 79To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace. 80And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel.Christian Standard Bible

72He has been merciful to our ancestors by remembering his sacred covenant — 73the covenant he swore with an oath to our ancestor Abraham. 74We have been rescued from our enemies so we can serve God without fear, 75in holiness and righteousness for as long as we live.
76'And you, my little son, will be called the prophet of the Most High, because you will prepare the way for the Lord.
77You will tell his people how to find salvation through forgiveness of their sins.
78Because of God’s tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us,
79to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide us to the path of peace.'
