And Jesus said to him, 'Today salvation has come to this house, because he, too, is a son of Abraham.
10
For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.'
11
Now while they were listening to these things,
Jesus
went on to tell a parable, because He was near Jerusalem and they thought that the kingdom of God was going to appear immediately.
12
So He said, 'A nobleman went to a distant country to receive a kingdom for himself, and
then
to return.

And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.

For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.
12
He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.

"Today salvation has come to this house," Jesus told him, "because he too is a son of Abraham.

For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save the lost."

As they were listening to this, he went on to tell a parable because he was near Jerusalem, and they thought the kingdom of God was going to appear right away.

Therefore he said, "A nobleman traveled to a far country to receive for himself authority to be king and then to return.

Jesus responded, 'Salvation has come to this home today, for this man has shown himself to be a true son of Abraham.

For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.'

The crowd was listening to everything Jesus said. And because he was nearing Jerusalem, he told them a story to correct the impression that the Kingdom of God would begin right away.

He said, 'A nobleman was called away to a distant empire to be crowned king and then return.
