Chapter 19

36Now as He was going, they were spreading their cloaks on the road. 37And as soon as He was approaching, near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles which they had seen,
38shouting: 'BLESSED IS the King, THE ONE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE Lord; Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!'
39And yet some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Him, 'Teacher, rebuke Your disciples!' 40Jesus replied, 'I tell you, if these stop speaking, the stones will cry out!'
41When He approached Jerusalem, He saw the city and wept over it, 42saying, 'If you had known on this day, even you, the conditions for peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes. 43For the days will come upon you when your enemies will put up a barricade against you, and surround you and hem you in on every side, 44and they will level you to the ground, and throw down your children within you, and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.'
45And Jesus entered the temple grounds and began to drive out those who were selling, 46saying to them, 'It is written: ‘AND MY HOUSE WILL BE A HOUSE OF PRAYER,’ but you have made it a DEN OF ROBBERS.'
47And He was teaching daily in the temple; but the chief priests and the scribes and the leading men among the people were trying to put Him to death,

36And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way. 37And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; 38Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. 39And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. 40And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
41And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, 42Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. 43For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, 44And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.
45And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought; 46Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves. 47And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,

36As he was going along, they were spreading their clothes on the road. 37Now he came near the path down the Mount of Olives, and the whole crowd of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles they had seen:
38Blessed is the King who comesin the name of the Lord. Peace in heavenand glory in the highest heaven!
39Some of the Pharisees from the crowd told him, "Teacher, rebuke your disciples."
40He answered, "I tell you, if they were to keep silent, the stones would cry out."
41As he approached and saw the city, he wept for it, 42saying, "If you knew this day what would bring peace--but now it is hidden from your eyes. 43For the days will come on you when your enemies will build a barricade around you, surround you, and hem you in on every side. 44They will crush you and your children among you to the ground, and they will not leave one stone on another in your midst, because you did not recognize the time when God visited you."
45He went into the temple and began to throw out those who were selling, 46and he said, "It is written, my house will be a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves! "
47Every day he was teaching in the temple. The chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people were looking for a way to kill him,

Chapter 19

36As he rode along, the crowds spread out their garments on the road ahead of him. 37When he reached the place where the road started down the Mount of Olives, all of his followers began to shout and sing as they walked along, praising God for all the wonderful miracles they had seen.
38'Blessings on the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in highest heaven!'
39But some of the Pharisees among the crowd said, 'Teacher, rebuke your followers for saying things like that!'
40He replied, 'If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers!'
41But as he came closer to Jerusalem and saw the city ahead, he began to weep. 42How I wish today that you of all people would understand the way to peace. But now it is too late, and peace is hidden from your eyes. 43Before long your enemies will build ramparts against your walls and encircle you and close in on you from every side. 44They will crush you into the ground, and your children with you. Your enemies will not leave a single stone in place, because you did not recognize it when God visited you. '
45Then Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out the people selling animals for sacrifices. 46He said to them, 'The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves.'
47After that, he taught daily in the Temple, but the leading priests, the teachers of religious law, and the other leaders of the people began planning how to kill him.

36And as he rode along, they spread their cloaks on the road. 37As he was drawing near—already on the way down the Mount of Olives—the whole multitude of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen, 38saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” 39And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” 40He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.”
41And when he drew near and saw the city, he wept over it, 42saying, “Would that you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. 43For the days will come upon you, when your enemies will set up a barricade around you and surround you and hem you in on every side 44and tear you down to the ground, you and your children within you. And they will not leave one stone upon another in you, because you did not know the time of your visitation.”
45And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold, 46saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a den of robbers.”
47And he was teaching daily in the temple. The chief priests and the scribes and the principal men of the people were seeking to destroy him,

37When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen:
38Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!' 'Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!'
39Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, 'Teacher, rebuke your disciples!'
40I tell you,' he replied, 'if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.'
41As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it 42and said, 'If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace--but now it is hidden from your eyes. 43The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side. 44They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God's coming to you.'
45When Jesus entered the temple courts, he began to drive out those who were selling. 46It is written,' he said to them, ''My house will be a house of prayer'; but you have made it 'a den of robbers.''
47Every day he was teaching at the temple. But the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the leaders among the people were trying to kill him.
