Luke 19:45-48
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 19
45
And Jesus entered the temple
grounds
and began to drive out those who were selling,
46
saying to them, 'It is written: ‘AND MY HOUSE WILL BE A HOUSE OF PRAYER,’ but you have made it a DEN OF ROBBERS.'
47
And He was teaching daily in the temple; but the chief priests and the scribes and the leading men among the people were trying to put Him to death,
48
and
yet
they could not find anything that they might do, for all the people were hanging on to every word He said.
King James Version
Chapter 19
45
And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought;
46
Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.
47
And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,
48
And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.
Christian Standard Bible

46
and he said, "It is written,
my house will be a house of prayer,
but you have made it
a den of thieves
!"
47
Every day he was teaching in the temple. The chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people were looking for a way to kill him,
48
but they could not find a way to do it, because all the people were captivated by what they heard.
