Luke 17:2-7
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 17
2
It is better for him if a millstone is hung around his neck and he is thrown into the sea, than that he may cause one of these little ones to sin.
3
Be on your guard! If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.
4
And if he sins against you seven times a day, and returns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.'
5
The apostles said to the Lord, 'Increase our faith!'
6
But the Lord said, 'If you had faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and be planted in the sea’; and it would obey you.
7
Now which of you, having a slave plowing or tending sheep, will say to him after he comes in from the field, ‘Come immediately and recline
at the table
to eat’?
King James Version
Chapter 17
2
It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.
3
Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
4
And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.
5
And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.
6
And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
7
But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat?
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 17
2
It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea than for him to cause one of these little ones to stumble.
3
Be on your guard. If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him.
4
And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and comes back to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him."
5
The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith."
6
"If you have faith the size of a mustard seed," the Lord said, "you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.
7
"Which one of you having a servant tending sheep or plowing will say to him when he comes in from the field, ‘Come at once and sit down to eat’?
New Living Translation
Chapter 17
2
It would be better to be thrown into the sea with a millstone hung around your neck than to cause one of these little ones to fall into sin.
3
So watch yourselves! 'If another believer sins, rebuke that person; then if there is repentance, forgive.
4
Even if that person wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks forgiveness, you must forgive.'
5
The apostles said to the Lord, 'Show us how to increase our faith.'
6
The Lord answered, 'If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘May you be uprooted and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you!
7
When a servant comes in from plowing or taking care of sheep, does his master say, ‘Come in and eat with me’?
English Standard Version
Chapter 17
2
It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were cast into the sea than that he should cause one of these little ones to sin.
3
Pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him,
4
and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him."
5
The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith!"
6
And the Lord said, "If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.
7
"Will any one of you who has a servant plowing or keeping sheep say to him when he has come in from the field, ‘Come at once and recline at table’?
New International Version
Chapter 17
2
It would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around their neck than to cause one of these little ones to stumble.
3
So watch yourselves. "If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them.
4
Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them."
5
The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith!"
6
He replied, "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.
7
"Suppose one of you has a servant plowing or looking after the sheep. Will he say to the servant when he comes in from the field, ‘Come along now and sit down to eat’?
New King James Version
Chapter 17
2
It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.

5

6
So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.
7
And which of you, having a servant plowing or tending sheep, will say to him when he has come in from the field, ‘Come at once and sit down to eat’?
