Luke 12:21-31
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 12
21Such is the one who stores up treasure for himself, and is not rich in relation to God.'
22And He said to His disciples, 'For this reason I tell you, do not worry about your life, as to what you are to eat; nor for your body, as to what you are to wear.
23For life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.
24Consider the ravens, that they neither sow nor reap; they have no storeroom nor barn, and yet God feeds them; how much more valuable you are than the birds!
25And which of you by worrying can add a day to his life’s span?
26Therefore if you cannot do even a very little thing, why do you worry about the other things?
27Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither labor nor spin; but I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.
28Now if God so clothes the grass in the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, how much more will He clothe you? You of little faith!
29And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, and do not keep worrying.
30For all these things are what the nations of the world eagerly seek; and your Father knows that you need these things.
31But seek His kingdom, and these things will be provided to you.
King James Version
22And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
23The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
24Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
25And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
26If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?
27Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
28If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
29And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
30For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
31But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Chapter 12
21"That's how it is with the one who stores up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God."
22Then he said to his disciples, "Therefore I tell you, don't worry about your life, what you will eat; or about the body, what you will wear.
23For life is more than food and the body more than clothing.
24Consider the ravens: They don't sow or reap; they don't have a storeroom or a barn; yet God feeds them. Aren't you worth much more than the birds?
25Can any of you add one moment to his life span by worrying?
26If then you're not able to do even a little thing, why worry about the rest?
27"Consider how the wildflowers grow: They don't labor or spin thread. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was adorned like one of these.
28If that's how God clothes the grass, which is in the field today and is thrown into the furnace tomorrow, how much more will he do for you--you of little faith?
29Don't strive for what you should eat and what you should drink, and don't be anxious.
30For the Gentile world eagerly seeks all these things, and your Father knows that you need them.
New Living Translation
Chapter 12
21Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God.'
22Then, turning to his disciples, Jesus said, 'That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life — whether you have enough food to eat or enough clothes to wear.
23For life is more than food, and your body more than clothing.
24Look at the ravens. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than any birds!
25Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?
26And if worry can’t accomplish a little thing like that, what’s the use of worrying over bigger things?
27Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are.
28And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?
English Standard Version
22And he said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on.
23For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing.
24Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds!
25And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?
26If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest?
27Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
28But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith!
29And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried.
30For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them.
31Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you.
New International Version
Chapter 12
21This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.'
22Then Jesus said to his disciples: 'Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear.
23For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.

25Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?
26Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?
27Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
28If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you--you of little faith!
29And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it.
30For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them.
31But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.
