Luke 12:19-27
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 12
19And I will say to myself, 'You have many goods stored up for many years to come; relax, eat, drink, and enjoy yourself!'?’ 20But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your soul is demanded of you; and as for all that you have prepared, who will own it now?’ 21Such is the one who stores up treasure for himself, and is not rich in relation to God.'
22And He said to His disciples, 'For this reason I tell you, do not worry about your life, as to what you are to eat; nor for your body, as to what you are to wear.
23For life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.
24Consider the ravens, that they neither sow nor reap; they have no storeroom nor barn, and yet God feeds them; how much more valuable you are than the birds!
25And which of you by worrying can add a day to his life’s span?
26Therefore if you cannot do even a very little thing, why do you worry about the other things?
27Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither labor nor spin; but I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.
King James Version
Chapter 12
19And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. 20But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? 21So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
22And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
23The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
24Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
25And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
26If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?
27Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Christian Standard Bible
22Then he said to his disciples, "Therefore I tell you, don't worry about your life, what you will eat; or about the body, what you will wear.
23For life is more than food and the body more than clothing.
24Consider the ravens: They don't sow or reap; they don't have a storeroom or a barn; yet God feeds them. Aren't you worth much more than the birds?
25Can any of you add one moment to his life span by worrying?
26If then you're not able to do even a little thing, why worry about the rest?
New Living Translation
22Then, turning to his disciples, Jesus said, 'That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life — whether you have enough food to eat or enough clothes to wear.
23For life is more than food, and your body more than clothing.
24Look at the ravens. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than any birds!
25Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?
26And if worry can’t accomplish a little thing like that, what’s the use of worrying over bigger things?

Chapter 12
19And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.”’ 20But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’ 21So is the one who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.”
22And he said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on.
23For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing.
24Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds!
25And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?
26If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest?
27Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

24Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds!
25Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?
26Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?
