John 9:22-26

Chapter 9

22His parents said this because they were afraid of the Jews; for the Jews had already reached the decision that if anyone confessed Him to be Christ, he was to be excommunicated from the synagogue. 23It was for this reason that his parents said, 'He is of age; ask him.'
24So for a second time they summoned the man who had been blind, and said to him, 'Give glory to God; we know that this man is a sinner.' 25He then answered, 'Whether He is a sinner, I do not know; one thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see.' 26So they said to him, 'What did He do to you? How did He open your eyes?'

22These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue. 23Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him.
24Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner. 25He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see. 26Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes?

22His parents said this because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders, who had announced that anyone saying Jesus was the Messiah would be expelled from the synagogue. 23That’s why they said, 'He is old enough. Ask him.'
24So for the second time they called in the man who had been blind and told him, 'God should get the glory for this, because we know this man Jesus is a sinner.'
25I don’t know whether he is a sinner,' the man replied. 'But I know this: I was blind, and now I can see!'
26But what did he do?' they asked. 'How did he heal you?'
