John 5:22-33
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 5
22For not even the Father judges anyone, but He has given all judgment to the Son, 23so that all will honor the Son just as they honor the Father. The one who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.
25Truly, truly, I say to you, a time is coming and even now has arrived, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.
26For just as the Father has life in Himself, so He gave to the Son also to have life in Himself;
27and He gave Him authority to execute judgment, because He is the Son of Man.
28Do not be amazed at this; for a time is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear His voice,
29and will come out: those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the bad deeds to a resurrection of judgment.
King James Version
Chapter 5
22For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: 23That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him. 24Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. 25Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. 26For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; 27And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. 28Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. 30I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 5
22The Father, in fact, judges no one but has given all judgment to the Son, 23so that all people may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Anyone who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.
25"Truly I tell you, an hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.
26For just as the Father has life in himself, so also he has granted to the Son to have life in himself.
27And he has granted him the right to pass judgment, because he is the Son of Man.
28Do not be amazed at this, because a time is coming when all who are in the graves will hear his voice
29and come out--those who have done good things, to the resurrection of life, but those who have done wicked things, to the resurrection of condemnation.
New Living Translation
Chapter 5
22In addition, the Father judges no one. Instead, he has given the Son absolute authority to judge, 23so that everyone will honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Anyone who does not honor the Son is certainly not honoring the Father who sent him.
25And I assure you that the time is coming, indeed it’s here now, when the dead will hear my voice — the voice of the Son of God. And those who listen will live.
26The Father has life in himself, and he has granted that same life-giving power to his Son.
27And he has given him authority to judge everyone because he is the Son of Man.
28Don’t be so surprised! Indeed, the time is coming when all the dead in their graves will hear the voice of God’s Son,
29and they will rise again. Those who have done good will rise to experience eternal life, and those who have continued in evil will rise to experience judgment.
30I can do nothing on my own. I judge as God tells me. Therefore, my judgment is just, because I carry out the will of the one who sent me, not my own will.
English Standard Version
Chapter 5
22For the Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son, 23that all may honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him. 24Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.
25“Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.
26For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself.
27And he has given him authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of Man.
28Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice
29and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.
30“I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.
31If I alone bear witness about myself, my testimony is not true.
32There is another who bears witness about me, and I know that the testimony that he bears about me is true.
33You sent to John, and he has borne witness to the truth.
New International Version
Chapter 5
22Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son, 23that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.
24Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.
25Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live.
26For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself.
27And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man.
28Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice
29and come out--those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned.
30By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.
New King James Version
Chapter 5
22For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, 23that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.
24“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.
25Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live.
26For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself,
27and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man.
28Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice
29and come forth— those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.
30I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.
