John 5:38-39

Chapter 5

38Also you do not have His word remaining in you, because you do not believe Him whom He sent.
39You examine the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is those very Scriptures that testify about Me;

38And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not. 39Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

38You don’t have his word residing in you, because you don’t believe the one he sent. 39You pore over the Scriptures because you think you have eternal life in them, and yet they testify about me.
