John 5:35-38

Chapter 5

35He was the lamp that was burning and shining, and you were willing to rejoice for a while in his light.
36But the testimony I have is greater than the testimony of John; for the works which the Father has given Me to accomplish—the very works that I do—testify about Me, that the Father has sent Me.
37And the Father who sent Me, He has testified about Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form. 38Also you do not have His word remaining in you, because you do not believe Him whom He sent.

35He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light. 36But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me. 37And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. 38And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.

You have never heard his voice or seen him face to face, 38and you do not have his message in your hearts, because you do not believe me — the one he sent to you.
