Isaiah 9:9-10
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 9
9
And all the people know
it,
That is,
Ephraim and the inhabitants of Samaria,
Asserting in pride and in arrogance of heart:
10
'The bricks have fallen down,
But we will rebuild with smooth stones;
The sycamores have been cut down,
But we will replace
them
with cedars.'
King James Version
Chapter 9
9
And all the people shall know,
even
Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and stoutness of heart,
10
The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycomores are cut down, but we will change
them into
cedars.
Christian Standard Bible

10
"The bricks have fallen, but we will rebuild with cut stones; the sycamores have been cut down, but we will replace them with cedars."
New Living Translation

who spoke with such pride and arrogance,
will soon know it.
10
They said, 'We will replace the broken bricks of our ruins with finished stone,
and replant the felled sycamore-fig trees with cedars.'
English Standard Version

New International Version
