Isaiah 65:1-5
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 65
1'I permitted Myself to be sought by those who did not ask for Me; I permitted Myself to be found by those who did not seek Me. I said, ‘Here am I, here am I,’ To a nation which did not call on My name. 2I have spread out My hands all day long to a rebellious people, Who walk in the way which is not good, following their own thoughts, 3A people who continually provoke Me to My face, Offering sacrifices in gardens and burning incense on bricks; 4Who sit among graves and spend the night in secret places; Who eat pig’s flesh, And the broth of unclean meat is in their pots. 5Who say, ‘Keep to yourself, do not come near me, For I am holier than you!’ These are smoke in My nostrils, A fire that burns all the day.King James Version
Chapter 65
1I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name. 2I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts; 3A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick; 4Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels; 5Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day.Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 65
1"I was sought by those who did not ask; I was found by those who did not seek me. I said, 'Here I am, here I am,' to a nation that did not call on my name. 2I spread out my hands all day long to a rebellious people who walk in the path that is not good, following their own thoughts. 3These people continually anger me to my face, sacrificing in gardens, burning incense on bricks, 4sitting among the graves, spending nights in secret places, eating the meat of pigs, and putting polluted broth in their bowls. 5They say, 'Keep to yourself, don't come near me, for I am too holy for you! ' These practices are smoke in my nostrils, a fire that burns all day long.New Living Translation
Chapter 65
1The Lord says, 'I was ready to respond, but no one asked for help. I was ready to be found, but no one was looking for me. I said, ‘Here I am, here I am!’ to a nation that did not call on my name. 2All day long I opened my arms to a rebellious people. But they follow their own evil paths and their own crooked schemes. 3All day long they insult me to my face by worshiping idols in their sacred gardens. They burn incense on pagan altars. 4At night they go out among the graves, worshiping the dead. They eat the flesh of pigs and make stews with other forbidden foods. 5Yet they say to each other, ‘Don’t come too close or you will defile me! I am holier than you!’ These people are a stench in my nostrils, an acrid smell that never goes away.English Standard Version
