Chapter 62

5For as a young man marries a virgin, So your sons will marry you; And as the groom rejoices over the bride, So your God will rejoice over you. 6On your walls, Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; All day and all night they will never keep silent. You who profess the Lord, take no rest for yourselves; 7And give Him no rest until He establishes And makes Jerusalem an object of praise on the earth. 8The Lord has sworn by His right hand and by His mighty arm: 'I will never again give your grain as food for your enemies, Nor will foreigners drink your new wine for which you have labored.' 9But those who harvest it will eat it and praise the Lord; And those who gather it will drink it in the courtyards of My sanctuary.

5For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.
6I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the Lord, keep not silence,
7And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.
8The Lord hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou hast laboured:
9But they that have gathered it shall eat it, and praise the Lord; and they that have brought it together shall drink it in the courts of my holiness.

7Do not give him rest until he establishes and makes Jerusalem the praise of the earth. 8The Lord has sworn with his right hand and his strong arm: I will no longer give your grain to your enemies for food, and foreigners will not drink the new wine for which you have labored. 9For those who gather grain will eat it and praise the Lord, and those who harvest the grapes will drink the wine in my holy courts.

Chapter 62

5Your children will commit themselves to you, O Jerusalem, just as a young man commits himself to his bride. Then God will rejoice over you as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride.
6O Jerusalem, I have posted watchmen on your walls; they will pray day and night, continually. Take no rest, all you who pray to the Lord. 7Give the Lord no rest until he completes his work, until he makes Jerusalem the pride of the earth. 8The Lord has sworn to Jerusalem by his own strength: 'I will never again hand you over to your enemies. Never again will foreign warriors come and take away your grain and new wine. 9You raised the grain, and you will eat it, praising the Lord. Within the courtyards of the Temple, you yourselves will drink the wine you have pressed.'
