Isaiah 51:2-3
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 51
2
Look to Abraham your father
And to Sarah who gave birth to you in pain;
When
he was only
one I called him,
Then I blessed him and multiplied him.'
3
Indeed, the
Lord
will comfort Zion;
He will comfort all her ruins.
And He will make her wilderness like Eden,
And her desert like the garden of the
Lord
.
Joy and gladness will be found in her,
Thanksgiving and the sound of a melody.
King James Version
Chapter 51
2
Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.
3
For the
Lord
shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the
Lord
; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 51
2
Look to Abraham your father,
and to Sarah who gave birth to you.
When I called him, he was only one;
I blessed him and made him many.
3
For the
Lord
will comfort Zion;
he will comfort all her waste places,
and he will make her wilderness like Eden,
and her desert like the garden of the
Lord
.
Joy and gladness will be found in her,
thanksgiving and melodious song.
New Living Translation
Chapter 51
2
Yes, think about Abraham, your ancestor,
and Sarah, who gave birth to your nation.
Abraham was only one man when I called him.
But when I blessed him, he became a great nation.'
3
The
Lord
will comfort Israel again
and have pity on her ruins.
Her desert will blossom like Eden,
her barren wilderness like the garden of the
Lord
.
Joy and gladness will be found there.
Songs of thanksgiving will fill the air.
English Standard Version

The
Lord
will surely comfort Zion
and will look with compassion on all her ruins;
he will make her deserts like Eden,
her wastelands like the garden of the
Lord

Joy and gladness will be found in her,
thanksgiving and the sound of singing.
