Isaiah 32:7-8
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 32
7
As for a rogue, his weapons are evil;
He devises wicked schemes
To destroy
the
poor with slander,
Even though
the
needy one speaks what is right.
8
But the noble person devises noble plans;
And by noble plans he stands.
King James Version
Chapter 32
7
The instruments also of the churl
are
evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right.
8
But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 32
7
The scoundrel's weapons are destructive; he hatches plots to destroy the needy with lies, even when the poor person says what is right.
8
But a noble person plans noble things; he stands up for noble causes.
New Living Translation
Chapter 32
7
The smooth tricks of scoundrels are evil.
They plot crooked schemes.
They lie to convict the poor,
even when the cause of the poor is just.
8
But generous people plan to do what is generous,
and they stand firm in their generosity.
English Standard Version
Chapter 32
7
As for the scoundrel—his devices are evil; he plans wicked schemes to ruin the poor with lying words, even when the plea of the needy is right.
8
But he who is noble plans noble things, and on noble things he stands.
New International Version
Chapter 32
7
Scoundrels use wicked methods, they make up evil schemes to destroy the poor with lies, even when the plea of the needy is just.
8
But the noble make noble plans, and by noble deeds they stand.
New King James Version
Chapter 32
7
Also the schemes of the schemer
are
evil;
He devises wicked plans
To destroy the poor with lying words,
Even when the needy speaks justice.
8
But a generous man devises generous things,
And by generosity he shall stand.
