Daniel 4:18-19
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 4
18
This is the dream
that
I, King Nebuchadnezzar, have seen. Now you, Belteshazzar, tell
me
its interpretation, since none of the wise men of my kingdom is able to make known to me the interpretation; but you are able, because a spirit of the holy gods is in you.’
19
Then Daniel, whose name is Belteshazzar, was appalled for a while as his thoughts alarmed him. The king responded and said, ‘Belteshazzar, do not let the dream or its interpretation alarm you.’ Belteshazzar replied, ‘My lord,
if only
the dream
applied
to those who hate you, and its interpretation to your adversaries!
King James Version
Chapter 4
18
This dream I king Nebuchadnezzar have seen. Now thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof, forasmuch as all the wise
men
of my kingdom are not able to make known unto me the interpretation: but thou
art
able; for the spirit of the holy gods is in thee.
19
Then Daniel, whose name
was
Belteshazzar, was astonied for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king spake, and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the interpretation thereof, trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, the dream be to them that hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine enemies.

Chapter 4
18

'Upon hearing this, Daniel (also known as Belteshazzar) was overcome for a time, frightened by the meaning of the dream. Then the king said to him, ‘Belteshazzar, don’t be alarmed by the dream and what it means.’ 'Belteshazzar replied, ‘I wish the events foreshadowed in this dream would happen to your enemies, my lord, and not to you!
