Romans 5:18-21
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 5
18So then, as through one offense the result was condemnation to all mankind, so also through one act of righteousness the result was justification of life to all mankind. 19For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous. 20The Law came in so that the offense would increase; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, 21so that, as sin reigned in death, so also grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.King James Version
Chapter 5
18Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. 19For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. 20Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: 21That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 5
18So then, as through one trespass there is condemnation for everyone, so also through one righteous act there is justification leading to life for everyone. 19For just as through one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so also through the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous. 20The law came along to multiply the trespass. But where sin multiplied, grace multiplied even more 21so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace will reign through righteousness, resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.New Living Translation
Chapter 5
18Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone. 19Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous.
20God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant.
21So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God’s wonderful grace rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
English Standard Version
Chapter 5
18Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men. 19For as by the one man 's disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man 's obedience the many will be made righteous. 20Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, 21so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.New International Version
Chapter 5
18Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. 19For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.New King James Version
