18So then, as through one offense the result was condemnation to all mankind, so also through one act of righteousness the result was justification of life to all mankind. 19For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous. 20The Law came in so that the offense would increase; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,

Chapter 5

18Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone. 19Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous.
20God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant.
