Proverbs 7:21-23
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 7
21With her many persuasions she entices him; With her flattering lips she seduces him. 22Suddenly he follows her As an ox goes to the slaughter, Or as one walks in ankle bracelets to the discipline of a fool, 23Until an arrow pierces through his liver; As a bird hurries to the snare, So he does not know that it will cost him his life.King James Version
Chapter 7
21With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him. 22He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks; 23Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.Christian Standard Bible
New Living Translation
Chapter 7
21So she seduced him with her pretty speech and enticed him with her flattery. 22He followed her at once, like an ox going to the slaughter. He was like a stag caught in a trap, 23awaiting the arrow that would pierce its heart. He was like a bird flying into a snare, little knowing it would cost him his life.English Standard Version
