Matthew 27:32-37
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 27
32
As they were coming out, they found a man of Cyrene named Simon, whom they compelled to carry His cross.
33
And when they came to a place called Golgotha, which means Place of a Skull,
34
they gave Him wine mixed with bile to drink; and after tasting
it,
He was unwilling to drink
it.
35
And when they had crucified Him, they divided His garments among themselves by casting lots.
36
And sitting down, they
began
to keep watch over Him there.
37
And above His head they put up the charge against Him which read, 'THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.'
King James Version
Chapter 27
32
And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross.
33
And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull,
34
They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.
35
And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.
36
And sitting down they watched him there;
37
And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
Christian Standard Bible

35
After crucifying him, they divided his clothes by casting lots.
36
Then they sat down and were guarding him there.
37
Above his head they put up the charge against him in writing: THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS.
New Living Translation
Chapter 27
32
Along the way, they came across a man named Simon, who was from Cyrene, and the soldiers forced him to carry Jesus’ cross.
33
And they went out to a place called Golgotha (which means 'Place of the Skull').
34
The soldiers gave Jesus wine mixed with bitter gall, but when he had tasted it, he refused to drink it.
35
After they had nailed him to the cross, the soldiers gambled for his clothes by throwing dice.
36
Then they sat around and kept guard as he hung there.
37
A sign was fastened above Jesus’ head, announcing the charge against him. It read: 'This is Jesus, the King of the Jews.'
