Matthew 10:17-30
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 10
17But be on guard against people, for they will hand you over to the courts and flog you in their synagogues; 18and you will even be brought before governors and kings on My account, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles. 19But when they hand you over, do not worry about how or what you are to say; for what you are to say will be given you in that hour. 20For it is not you who are speaking, but it is the Spirit of your Father who is speaking in you.
21Now brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death.
22And you will be hated by all because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved.
24A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a slave above his master.
25It is enough for the disciple that he may become like his teacher, and the slave like his master. If they have called the head of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they insult the members of his household!
26So do not fear them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.
27What I tell you in the darkness, tell in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim on the housetops.
28And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
29Are two sparrows not sold for an assarion? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father.
30But even the hairs of your head are all counted.
King James Version
Chapter 10
17But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; 18And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles. 19But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. 20For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you. 21And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death. 22And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. 23But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.
24The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.
25It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?
26Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
27What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
28And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
29Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.
30But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

Chapter 10
17Beware of them, because they will hand you over to local courts and flog you in their synagogues. 18You will even be brought before governors and kings because of me, to bear witness to them and to the Gentiles. 19But when they hand you over, don’t worry about how or what you are to speak. For you will be given what to say at that hour, 20because it isn’t you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father is speaking through you.
21"Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rise up against parents and have them put to death.
22You will be hated by everyone because of my name. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
23When they persecute you in one town, flee to another. For truly I tell you, you will not have gone through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.
24A disciple is not above his teacher, or a slave above his master.
25It is enough for a disciple to become like his teacher and a slave like his master. If they called the head of the house ‘Beelzebul,’ how much more the members of his household!
26"Therefore, don’t be afraid of them, since there is nothing covered that won’t be uncovered and nothing hidden that won’t be made known.
27What I tell you in the dark, speak in the light. What you hear in a whisper, proclaim on the housetops.
28Don’t fear those who kill the body but are not able to kill the soul; rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
29Aren’t two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them falls to the ground without your Father’s consent.
30But even the hairs of your head have all been counted.
New Living Translation
Chapter 10
17But beware! For you will be handed over to the courts and will be flogged with whips in the synagogues. 18You will stand trial before governors and kings because you are my followers. But this will be your opportunity to tell the rulers and other unbelievers about me. 19When you are arrested, don’t worry about how to respond or what to say. God will give you the right words at the right time. 20For it is not you who will be speaking — it will be the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
21A brother will betray his brother to death, a father will betray his own child, and children will rebel against their parents and cause them to be killed.
22And all nations will hate you because you are my followers. But everyone who endures to the end will be saved.
23When you are persecuted in one town, flee to the next. I tell you the truth, the Son of Man will return before you have reached all the towns of Israel.
24Students are not greater than their teacher, and slaves are not greater than their master.
25Students are to be like their teacher, and slaves are to be like their master. And since I, the master of the household, have been called the prince of demons, the members of my household will be called by even worse names!
26But don’t be afraid of those who threaten you. For the time is coming when everything that is covered will be revealed, and all that is secret will be made known to all.
27What I tell you now in the darkness, shout abroad when daybreak comes. What I whisper in your ear, shout from the housetops for all to hear!
28Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
29What is the price of two sparrows — one copper coin ? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it.
30And the very hairs on your head are all numbered.
