asking Him what this parable meant.

And He said, 'To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest
they are told
in parables, so that while seeing they may not see, and while hearing they may not understand.

And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?

And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

So he said, "The secrets of the kingdom of God have been given for you to know, but to the rest it is in parables, so thatLooking they may not see,and hearing they may not understand.

His disciples asked him what this parable meant.

He replied, 'You are permitted to understand the secrets of the Kingdom of God. But I use parables to teach the others so that the Scriptures might be fulfilled:
‘When they look, they won’t really see.
When they hear, they won’t understand.’
